Joker

8.5/10 Joaquin phoenix portrays this character study so well. He is not trying to copy another joker and it is incredible. The acting is incredible. The score is so perfect and makes this movie so creepy at times it is so perfect. The 2nd act is incredible and the 3rd act might be one of my favorite moments in a film. You see Arthur's slow turn and right when the funding gets pulled it fully tips him over. I cannot get over the rats though, I was so interested in them and then they get dropped with no answers. I want to know what happened with those damn super rats. The 2nd half of this movie is much better than the first. The deep themes are shown for anyone and don't allow for the film to have greater meaning. I feel like there was incredible potential for a backstory of the Joker and I feel kinda let down as he is just a depressed man with a bad life. This film is a character study of the Joker and other world elements that I felt could've held deeper meanings but they are very surface level. The score is perfect, the acting is perfect, the 3rd act if perfect. I can give this movie praise but it is not perfect and can be seen as a copy of some other fills before it.
