Before Sunset
What I love so much about this one compared to Sunrise is how much more they each express their vulnerabilities and insecurities to each other, which makes it seem they are really, really reaching for each other because when you are this exposed to someone you are giving them every piece of you and they love you for it unequivocally. To love someone is to love everything about them and they are giving each other everything they have harboured, after a long 9 years… My heart aches for Jesse on that day. Love is like the wind, completely spontaneous and extremely powerful and passionate, and once that fades, it never truly leaves. It lingers, and latches on to you. They were waiting for each other, and I find that so poignant. Celines monologue in the car really solidified my interpretation on this, and how complicated love actually is.
This movie is so beautiful, if Midnight is even close to the magic of the first 2 it could be in my top 3 trilogies ever.
