Minari
This film does an incredible job at putting the audience into the shoes of an immigrant family in both beautiful and devastating ways. It particularly highlights the transformative experience they go through, a baptism by water and fire, as they approach integrating into a new culture, religious environment, and economy. And at the center of it all, is a family—past, present, and future—who have everything with each other when they have seemingly lost it all. A family that has been uprooted, but thrives in their new place, like Grandma’s minari.
