The Witch

Only Robert Eggers' debut feature film and he's knocked it out of the park. There were maybe 1-2 jumpscares but the rest of the "horror" comes from the atmosphere that's created, you can sense the doom that's coming for the family right from the get go and the score, oh man the score, this is probably one of if not the best one I've seen in a movie. It perfectly captured everything it was about which I can't put into words, a feeling of incoming dread and uneasiness. Loved the set design, costumes, dialogue and acting too keeping in mind it's set in the 1600s, it offered realism and made you admire the research that was done when making this movie. Just fucking brilliant.
