Look Back
“Then why do you draw, Fujino?”
art is a reflection of our lives, a projection of our emotions and our souls. art is the most human thing we can create and the strongest force that connects people through understanding and relatability. even a single manga panel can hide a huge weight of feelings, experiences, and the author’s personal tragedies.
you never know how deeply you can influence on another person’s life just as no one can ever fully know how much influence they’ve had on you. this film tells us that obsessing over tragedy leads nowhere and that looking back will never change what has already happened. there’s only one option left: to live through it. art helps us do exactly that. you don’t throw your emotions away: you reflect, express, fully process them.
after reading lots of tragic stories in the comments, I wanna say that being lost in despair, we often don’t see how ridiculously simple are the words we need the most to hear. no matter how long someone was in your life or how much they meant to you, remember that this person wouldn't want to see you suffer for the rest of your life, they would want the best for you just as Kyomoto wanted the best for Fujino
