what can i saaayyyyy, if you know me ur probably sick asf of hearing me talk about this absolute masterpiece!!! this film, like all the others i have on my top 4 (or in my favs list) means a LOT to me, it has single handedly marked a period of my life, and continues to do so. ill defend its intetions with my life. the whole universe anthony burgess created on the original novel is brought to life perfectly: the aesthetic choices, the dialogue and even the characters personalities are spot on and make this film an absolute classic. it remains iconic to these days, and i feel it will be forever
3 hours is not even enough to unravel this story full of ups and downs and incredible characters that pack it up with whimsy. the best film in the trilogy imo. the only thing that i dont find that good is the use of blackface, but it was made in times when those things werent that important so oh well. the message behind every situation (and the entirety of the movie lets be honest) is really important, specially these days, where the satirical version of the world we see through lindsay anderson's eyes is not an ironic "what if" anymore
even though its what my one of my dearest friends would call "a talking simulator", for me, the collection is really gripping, and has caught my eye since the first act. if theres one thing i love in cinema it is plays adapted as films, idk why but it feels intimate and just meant to be. the plot here is honestly very simple, but the actors' performances and the way the dialogue is scrumptiously (iykyk) structured makes it something intriguing rather than cliché! also this is the first film here where malcolm mcdowell isnt naked or touches a womans tit
super super good way to introduce us who mick travis is. even though his story could end here, since it is a very complete movie, i love how the key things about his character are showed in the other 2 films. overall, although it is a bit confusing (lindsay's style is kinda hard to catch with, and for my first movie of his it was pretty revealing) i feel like the film's influence is timeless
im not usually the biggest fan if this genre of movies, but the raging moon was indeed touching. the ending is super sad and the relationship between bruce and jill is the cutest thing ever. the biggest flaw i see is how spotaneously bruce's disability appears and how slow the beginning of the plot is
rlly rlly good message, but it is a bit slow and i feel like, as it belongs to the trilogy, mick travis could have been more of a key character. his role feels forced and his death seemed rushed and lacks the importance it means to the trilogy :(
visually insane, and the dialogue is not that bad. if only it wasnt FLOODED with porn and questionable fetishes... i feel like we could dig through all of it and find a stunning story of how caligula becomes who he is known for, but tbh orgies are key in his story so that wouldnt be accurate
