Watched Project Hail Mary for the second time today and somehow loved it even more. There’s something about revisiting this movie after reading the book that completely changes the experience. The first time around, I was trying to piece everything together, but now it all clicks, the science, the stakes, the emotional beats. Knowing the deeper context from the book gave the movie so much more weight and clarity, and honestly made certain moments hit way harder. One shot that’s been stuck in my head all day is that shot of Adrian surrounded by Astrophage, it’s just stunning. Its beautiful and one of my favorite shots from the movie. Ryan Gosling was the perfect pick for this role, i can't imagine someone else playing Grace. Ryan carries so much of the film on his own, and somehow balances the humor, panic, loneliness, and determination in a way that feels completely natural. It never comes off as overplayed or fake, just a very human performance in a very not human situation. This rewatch made me appreciate how well the film blends a sci-fi story with something genuinely emotional and accessible. It’s smart, but it never forgets to be engaging. amaze amaze amaze

Dropped my rating for The Fall Guy from 4/5 to 3.5/5 on my third watch. Still a really fun, stunt heavy love letter to the industry, and the chemistry absolutely carries it. But now that the novelty’s worn off a bit, the pacing feels uneven and some of the jokes don’t land as well as they did the first two times. That said, I’ll always respect how this movie is made with a lot of love for stunt performers. Just not quite as rewatchable as I initially thought.
