Aftersun
this is the most beautiful movie i have seen in my entire life i think. i ugly cried through like a quarter of this. the visuals were so beautiful, the transitions were perfect, the story really touched me and im hugging my dad the first thing in the morning tomorrow because i love him so much.
what i liked the most was probably how he told sophie about his 11th birthday and how she convinced everyone to sing for him. and then when it cut to him bawling his eyes out on the bed the night before? wow
i also really liked what he told her about her being free to be whoever she wants to be, because she still has time. i think it was heavily implied that the dad was queer and i think it makes sense to assume he had aids. and with that and what he told her about feeling like he had never belonged in his home town in mind that line is so powerful, since he felt like he had to hide and did in fact not have time.
didnt expect under pressure to push me lower when i was already down but here i am i guess... it really was their last dance…
and and and when she was watching the tapes back trying to figure out what happened you could hear a baby cry and she had a wife (?i think? but again a parallel to the dad being queer) and she had the rug her dad had bought though he couldnt afford it
this movie is so perfect guys
