Parasite

Great double feature with Evil Dead II. With Evil Dead II feeling like Raimi just trying to make you feel like you're in a fever dream, doing whatever it takes to nauseate you with a nonsensical story, whipping camera moves and insane special effects. Compared to Parasite where every single story beat feels as though it's been perfectly structured in a laboratory, every performance is expertly executed and with each frame having been meticulously crafted and though out. Goddamn this film is fucking amazing. Having not watched it since January 2020 and after scouring through most of Bong Joon-Ho's filmography since, it still somehow, almost, felt like I was watching it for the first time. It's hard for me to put into words how great this film is. I was also privileged enough, believe it or not, to watch Parasite with people who had prior to seeing it, barely even heard of it, who enjoyed it a lot. It was sooo great seeing first-time reactions, especially to that latter half.
