Suspiria

the art direction in this film is hauntingly, disturbingly, grotesquely gorgeous.  shoutout to the all female cast!! love how they got jessica harper back briefly as an homage to argento’s suzy bannion. body horror in this was sparse but everytime it happened it made me sick and distressed, so good job!! the unorthodox choreography was hypnotizing. the macramé dance costume design for volk was brilliant, especially when it was worn collectively, mesmerizing to see the strands move in fluidity with the dancers, would’ve looked amazing in the 1977 original’s vibrant colouring. score is absolutely gorgeous, thank you thom yorke for your services. i resent how monotonous dakota johnson was all the time. even worse, they had chloe grace moretz in this (compensated by goth and swinton’s compelling performances)
