Parasite
This was my first time watching a movie like this, aside from Memories of Murder, and I was completely stunned. Parasite is easily one of the best movies I have ever seen, and I fully understand why it is so critically acclaimed. The beginning pulls you in right away and feels intriguing and grounded, but once the story really starts to unfold, it becomes something entirely different. It is fun, unpredictable, and constantly surprising in a way that keeps you fully locked in.
What impressed me most was how many tones the movie balances so naturally. There are moments that are funny, uncomfortable, shocking, and even genuinely scary, sometimes all within the same stretch of the film. The performances are incredible across the board, and every character feels fully realized and essential to the story. There were multiple moments that genuinely left me stunned, just sitting there trying to process what I was watching. It is one of those movies that sticks with you after it ends, and it easily ranks as one of the best films I have ever seen.
