Arrival
It is amazing how they make you believe the beggining are flashbacks instead of flashforwards (which they are). As long as you are going through the movie, you start realizing although it took me some time.
Amy Adams gives an amazing performance, she truly deserved an Oscar Nomination (at least in my opinion). I had never seen a movie with a POV from a translator which it is truly interesting. I feel like with this movie, it "talks" about "resolving problems" in 2 different ways, according to science and to words, believing (from each character's POV) that the other person will not be able to achieve to answer the question the Coronel wants to ask to the aliens.
Also, it represents different parts of society as countries. In this case, China represents people who tend to sort out problems with violence and USA achieve to sort out this alien "problem" with time and patience. With topics like humanity, generosity and beauty, this film feels completely full.
Lastly, it is my first time watching a Denis Villeneuve's film (eventhough I have multiple of his films in my watchlist such as Prisoners and Blade Runner 2049) and I pretty much enjoyed it. I was not expecting most of the things that happened but, they happened and I am glad they did.
