Poor Things
In terms of "understanding" the film, I believe I did but I actually doubt that I fully understand the metaphor that Yorgos tried to portray.
This movie explains growing up in a way where Bella Baxter has entirely changed, leaving her old-self behind. Emma Stone's portrayal is outgrowing and evolving during the entire film as, mentally, her character is growing. It presents herself as a naive woman that did not have a chance to discover the world yet.
This also clearly express a desire to explore sexuality as Emma Stone's character did but maybe, just maybe, they could have been less time having sex or, AT LEAST, less time showing d*cks on screen because it would have been a nicer experience (for me). I understand the complex meaning this part but chill your ass Bella Baxter!
I am going to take this film as what Taylor Swift said: " I'm sorry, but the old Taylor can't come to the phone right now. Why? Oh, 'cause she's dead (oh) ". Leaving your old-self behind which has been hurting you like a thorn that is deeply pinned into your heart. And this, it is was I needed, I need to leave everything behind, everyone who I considered a friend, who has clearly betrayed me in several occasions, and every feeling I have probably felt because of them.
