Challengers
When your circle small but y'all crazy🤪
But seriously though, from the pacing to the storytelling(non-linear storytelling is the last piece of the puzzle crucial to construct a movie as continually engaging as Challengers) everything is flawlessly executed in a way that it is digestible for each viewer through their own perception. The cinematography throughout is awe-inspiring, probably what makes it so immersive and makes you really feel every inch of sweat and every grunt throughout the matches.
THE SOUNDTRACK holy fuck i expected so much from it after having listened to the title track on repeat and it delivered and surpassed my expectations effortlessly. Choosing Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross for a film that focuses mainly on tennis and a love triangle isn't ideal in anyone's mind because no director is going to watch The Social Network and think to score their movie with electronic music but what the fuck it fit so perfectly and it's staggering since these two should not have worked together. Nevertheless, it worked so well that i rewound almost every scene just to glimpse those ephemeral electronic seconds. I could see the introduction of Art's tic being important later it being the most blatant Chekhov's gun but fuck it couldn't have been used better. Some of the other minute details that add more nuance to the film like the I told ya t shirt rotating through characters also sculpts it more ini a into a perfect shape than an irregular unfinished one like it rewards you in a way by not leaving you in the dark about each character's intents and feelings while still being equivocal enough for you to understand it in your way.
That being said the movie was only good because Zendaya is really hot.
