Queer
I mean c'mon.....a stunning fever dreamy looking film with surrealistic visuals, gorgeous setting and a story that involves themes of desperation, longing & loneliness presented in a unique abstract way? How was I not supposed to adore this movie?!! This was so heartwrenching and captivating to watch, editing and soundtrack were superb, performances were very engaging and both of the characters were so interesting to follow through- what an intriguing dynamic between the two leads, you just never quite know what the deal is with Drew's character like that's also one of the many compelling aspects of the movie. Though admittedly, it can be so excruciating to watch Daniel Craig's character make pathetic and embarrassing decisions but at the same time, that's what made him so resonating and heartbreaking to begin with to which that I applaud. The abstractness and bizarreness of the sequences later on were personally so effective to me, it perfectly encapsulates the whole thematic elements of the whole thing and the melancholic ending is the cherry on the top. My second favorite Guadagino film for sure, right after Suspiria.
