The Thing
To do cosmic horror properly in any format is not easy. This film somehow manages to include the viscerally disgusting phenomena and the horror of the unknown which are mainstays of the genre, all while instilling the watcher with the abject terror of what lies beneath the surface of the movie’s world, and what incomprehensible horrors lie before and after the plot. Really cool.
