Alien
Call me crazy but there is no better set design in a film. This came out in the 70s and still has insane, massive sets that hold up today. Not to mention the Xenomorph design, which never changed over time since its original design was so iconic and timeless. The slow, atmospheric burn is exactly designed for a guy like me.
I do call this my favorite film, but it isn’t by a massive margin to be honest. I do love film enough that it is quite hard to hold one film so highly above the rest to refer to it as my favorite. So, by a small margin Alien is my favorite film. Not because I think it’s the greatest made film, but because it’s exactly what I love. The entire series to me, even the atrocities later in the series I love so much just because of the perfectly created atmosphere and corporate universe. This is a film I think everyone should watch at one point in their life.
