Im croatian but im learning ukrainian and i used to like the song на швидких поїздах even before i watched the movie. When i watched it i was in psych ward for the first time and found out the movie where its from as i was really bored most of the time and decided to give it a try. I watched a whole musical in ukrainian without translation and was shocked i understood it, and really liked it! From now on i listen to the song from here over and over and my favorites are червона рута, водограй, and на швидких поїздах. Great movie, ukrainian culture and language is really beautiful, and the songs are so melodic. Much love from croatia!

Rewatched this movie last night and god i forgot how much i love it. My favorite movie of all time. Its controversial and not for everyone exactly because its satire. If it was serious movie about school shooting depicting how sad it was for victims or how mentally ill were shooter yall would love it. But satire is exactly why i adore this film and why some people hate it. Its made exactly to look like its laughing in your face. The irony of showing how most of people viewed Columbine after it happened, and fact is, many people viewed it exactly in this way so it offended them. Its like the film makes fun of them. Like "hey, this is how school shooting looks from your perspective, do you see how stupid it looks?". I wouldnt agree with people who say it was made in wrong timing and wrong year, i think its in fact perfect timing to explain the issue trough satire. What also makes it amazing is the low budget and yet didnt fail to make me love it more than some high quality marvel movie. The actors played roles so fitting to the role theyre playing. Like clueless obedient mother, angry father, 2 outsider neonazi boys who develop hate to bullies, 2 alternative friends who dont care about bullies, the shallow bullies, the dumb bible girl, perverted priest etc. All very cliche roles and actors did well job by making fun of them. At first i didnt know this movie was comedy/satire. I watched it thinking it will be something like Zero day. By the time parents started fighting and dad started beating mom i realized it and thought "what is this actually? idk, i'll give it a chance till the end" and after i finished it i was actually amazed by what i watched. Its probably not even somewhere near top 30 movies of the time but i know it will for sure always be MY favorite movie of all time. The irony in all of it and satirical truth of how people view the whole school shooting situation will never fail to amaze me. 10/10 movie any time. Again, its not for everyone, some people, especially ones who are quick to judge the situation and probably view it exactly in this way arent gonna love it, but i know for sure i do. Never loved a movie like i loved this one.
