Sentimental Value

I’m honestly speechless, thoughtless, emotionally completely drained. I just sobbed for the past 30 minutes straight. This is honestly the most beautiful film I’ve ever seen about family in my life (cuz like fuck the godfather trilogy lol). Renate is such a good actress and rly showcases her range here after her performance in The Worst Person in the World. Stellan and everyone else is also amazing, but she rly shines. Joachim is so talented at creating a story with such humanity, including all the grey area that is strung between two poles of extremities (all the while, grey matter is the most important part of neural structures). I need to sit with this one before I can review it again because it hit a really personal chord, but like this was amazing and deserved every Oscar it didn’t win.
