I’m making a goal for this year for me to watch a lot of these classic films that if you’re a fan of film you need to watch. I’m starting this journey off with this movie as this has been on my list for years. This might be one of the most intense movies I’ve ever seen. There’s no use of music throughout the entire film and I honestly think that fills you with more dread. It feels real not like it’s being played out. The entire movie is essentially just a cat and mouse chase throughout Texas and Mexico. There are some incredible shootout sequences in here and the entire middle of the film is so perfect. I really appreciate the screenplay and the way this film ended. It’s not a typical film ending but it makes it unique and more impactful. The acting is impeccable especially from Javier Bardem, and the scenery of these dry deserts are perfect. A really fantastic movie. I’m glad I finally watched it.

After loving Project Hail Mary I really wanted to check out the other very big movie that is based from Andy Weir. This one is really good! I really enjoyed the survival story and it kept me engaged the entire time. The performance from Matt Damon is really good and there are some truly stressful moments. It’s funny, entertaining, and wild and space just seems so cool. I do think Project Hail Mary is the stronger story but this movie was great nonetheless. Some great needle drops in here too.

Calling Anne Hathaway fat should be considered a crime. Really entertaining fun movie that shows the glamor and hell of the corporate world. The lengths someone will go to for their job. Meryl Streep is phenomenal in this role and Andy was such a fantastic character. The character arc for her is so incredibly well written.

Oh wow. What a fantastic movie. It was much more lighthearted than what I was expecting but it somehow worked for me. This movie has its own identity which I really love and a lot of it is built around connection and humor. There were so many moments that actually had me laughing at loud and I just fell in love with the dynamic between Grace and Rocky. Ryan Goslings performance is very good. It’s his typical self with some more emotional moments but he fits the character perfectly. There were many emotional moments and very heartwarming moments. Some scenes had me even reflecting upon my own life and what’s to come for some of my future. This might be one of the most technically Impressive movies I’ve seen. The sound design and cinematography are outstanding and truly make you feel like you are in this astonishing world. The colors of certain scenes and the intensity of them work so well hand in hand. There are some really special sequences in this film. One thing that really threw me off was some of the music choice. There were certain moments where an upbeat, lively song would come on but it would be a super dramatic moment. Some of the musical moments didn’t work for me and it took me out of the movie in certain scenes. What a great time at the movies though, I just really wish I could have experienced this in IMAX.
