Psycho

First time watcher! Alfred Hitchcock does the genre well. Through Hooptober challenges I’m starting to note what parts of the genre I like, and what doesn’t stand out to me. Hitchcock movies are voyueristic - the opening shot, approaching half opened doors where the scene is occurring on the other side and listening into a mother and son having a private conversation, and the literal voyeurism, peeping through a hole in the wall. I don’t know what this movie did for 60s culture but I love that this came out, in B/W and the gore was very minimal then just a few short years later, The Birds came out and we saw violence on screen in color. I would have loved to watch this in a group, it seems like a good movie to share with someone. The 1960s really are that bitch <3
