it’s criminal it took me this long to watch this masterpiece. she was truly her biggest rival the entire film, and i’m in love with her infatuation with lily despite her being a symbolical portrayal of the black swan she’s been internally repressing. the fact that majority of lily’s scenes were all inside nina’s head, and it’s the catalyst in fueling her to make her one and only performance to be “perfect”, which she yearned for and achieves through inadvertently killing every part of herself (both literally and figuratively). i can’t imagine rewatching and trying to decipher illusion from reality; though nothing will amount to how profoundly confused i felt figuring it out in real time bc of nina’s unreliable perspective … natalie portman the woman you are. i, too, would be in love with myself AND be my number one public enemy
