Monster
you were always normali love nonlinear storytelling, and this one specifically is genius
as the film goes on we can piece the story together ourselves. the shift in tone depending on the point of view is what gives the film its whole essence
adults watch what's happening and guide themselves by what they see at first glance
they try to fix things based on what they assume, they worry, blame each other, they run and shout
and then they can't understand when children do the same
the adult world has so many prescribed rules that everything becomes complicated, because they understand too much. but why is it different with children? why don't they stop and wonder if they, too, are understanding too much, just trying to survive each other?
we can all keep secrets and let them confuse us, haunt us, specially two kids who only need understanding
an adult and a child can blow their secrets away as hard as they can
and don't even get me started about yori
