I love the question it begs… To what extent of moral justice is worth prosperity? It’s easy to turn into a seering hyena when materialism dangles in your face. With afro pessimism rooted in Western ideologies, I love how this film satirizes it in the most compelling way possible because I feel for both sides. Reading Mambety’s intentions with this film just makes me appreciate even more how brilliant this film was. The antagonist feelings make sense and is rooted in destructive retribution (which obviously satirized, but I cant help but feel it’s somewhat valid considering the world created for her) On the contrary through her weaponizing materialism, we see greed really shine, we see, and I am quoting this from an analysis I read “the malevolent sovereignty of Linguere Ramatou”, the evilness of fucking capitalism (of course), and the sovereignty of mulaaaaaaaa 💰 What a film. Could definitely see this being one of my future favs I already love it.
