Some life changing animation in that 2nd half 😮💨

“ The hunter did not hate the wolf. The wolf did not hate the sheep. But violence felt inevitable between them. Perhaps, I thought this was the way of the world. It would hunt you and kill you.. just for being who you are. “ suffers a small amount from pacing issues (primarily in the first half), and I honestly wasn’t the biggest fan of some of the characterizations, but it’s still nonetheless a fantastic & faithful adaptation that hits all the right beats when it needs to. Huge, ornate set designs that transport you directly into each scene, followed by a cast of performances that all exceeded my expectations by a large margin. (Specifically Jacob Elordi) With time, i can definitely see this growing on me more & more.

Even with an ending that left a sour taste in my mouth, I’d be lying if I said this isn’t off rip my favorite yorgos film. Worked perfect as an allegory on isolation & obession, while at the same time completely embracing its science fiction aspects and never being afraid to go completely off the rails. By far one of the most unique depictions on how a warped and mentally ill view on life can be used as both a weapon, and a source of coping. All backed up of course by a Career-best performance from Jesse Plemons. Betting my house he wins that Oscar.
