Adolescence

Incredible… You leave this series with more questions than when you went in. Stephen Graham is forever a highlight, but I was pleasantly surprised by the talent on show from the junior actors and actresses.  I also thought the role of the Police Detective Inspector was incredibly well performed. Camerawork was exceptional as was the sound design, the lack of cuts draws you into the moment and doesnt let you leave. Outstanding, but I thought the first two episodes were considerably stronger than the latter two… though the latter episodes have a marked tonal and thematic shift - from Police/Crime drama to intimate character exploration, for both Jamie and the Dad… (Or as my girlfriends kept referring, ‘Combo’ in reference to his role in This is England)
