If you consider how well the legacy sequels have been recently and factor in the huge boom in the interest of the poker world of the last few years all combined with the cult following of rounders a rounders 2 would be fuckin awesome

Ya ts gon be peak

Batman was always supposed to be about hope and inspiration. Batman Begins is a wonderful character study into the trauma that lives in Bruce and inspires Batman to inspire Gotham. Gotham feels alive and distinct, the narrows feel distinctly separate and thematically a counter. Ducard and Bruce exist from the same trauma but Batman Begins teaches us to counter our fears with empathy, integrity, and courage rather than anger, frustration, and deatruction. I think at somewhere along the gritty superhero reboot we lost sight that superhero’s were always meant to teach us lessons and inspire us to be more, nowhere else in the genre (although I do think spiderman 2 comes the closest) does our protagonist go through real traumatic and life moments and feelings that kids teenagers and adults all struggle with. Batman is a legacy and this movie understands it, he’s everlasting, he’s a combination of the worst and best in Bruce, he allows Bruce to be more than his past and more than his parents death. It’s a beacon that your past leads you to where you are but it shouldn’t consume or stunt you, you replicate the good and learn from the bad to become more, to become “a legend”, something we all strive for. Ducard: “your compassion is a weakness your enemy’s will not share” Bruce: “I know… that’s why it’s so important” Bruce: “Rachel this isn’t me, I am more than this” Rachel: “deep down you may still be that great kid I once knew, but it’s not who you are underneath it’s what you do that defines you” Bruce: “everything my parents stood for is destroyed… I wanted to save Gotham” Alfred: “the Wayne legacy is more than just bricks sir” Rachel: “so what will you do?” Bruce: “rebuild it, exactly the way it was, brick for brick” Alfred: “brick for brick sir?… I thought this would be a good opportunity to improve the foundations” Bruce: “like the southeast corner…” Life is about progress and Batman Begins serves as an inspiration to continue the best in yourself and have the courage to face the worst you’ve been through and use that to become your best My third favorite movie of all time and one that I revisit when looking for the strength to be more and to make actions that define who I want to be, while understanding the actions that led me to who I am

I guess we’re both suckers
