Do the Right Thing
Powerful in 1989 and still sadly thematically relevant in today’s day and age. My physical copy came with a little intro Spike Lee recorded in 2020 I believe and he said that Do The Right Thing is still important after the killing of George Floyd. Myself, I had thought this was just a comedy or something around those lines from what I’ve seen and heard online and I can’t believe that the film would end how it would.
Beautifully shot, edited, directed, scored, written and performed by some amazing people and it’s truly a powerful story. I obviously can’t relate to anything about the African-American experience that anyone has had to put up with in their lives and there’s nothing I can do about it.
Also just seeing someone’s take on this film truly disgusted me to my core, saying that Sal was the victim and that Radio Raheems’ death was justified because of what he did in the shop, just wake the fuck up and stop being a oblivious pig because if that’s all that you see from this film and saying that Spike Lee doesn't know what he’s doing with this or with any of his films and that he can’t comment on issues like this in todays world??? You are clearly the problem and are the reason why the world is the shit show it is. Wake the fuck up, you stupid fucking cunt.
