was fully waiting for a second-act-transition of sorts to an adult sophie - expected that to form the structure of the film. very understated throughout. felt quite on edge most of the time, from multiple sources. a modern-day bildungsroman is really all i can think of to describe it. just a well put together slice of life film showcasing the trials and tribulations of raising a daughter. im sure a second watch would reveal a bit more - definitely more thoughtful than i realise.
