Shutter Island
This movie was brilliant the story was amazing and it was technically an unreliable narrator story (which I love) except he wasn’t really a narrator but we still believe what Teddy believes until it’s all revealed to us as it is to Teddy.
I do feel however throughout this movie they make it quite obvious through the dialogue and even prisoners giving Teddy looks as if they know him which of course they do.
But this movie was done so well and the stand out scene for me and probably for a lot of people is the flashback scene to the murder of his children this scene is directed and performed so well and helps show this horrific tragedy and Leonardo DiCaprio’s acting in this scene and the entire movie but this scene specifically stands out to me because this is the scene that made me go wow he really is an amazing actor he shows the pain his character is feeling and the loss brilliantly and it’s obviously a difficult scene for him to do due to how vile the murders actually are.
This movie is so good and I honestly really enjoyed it and the mystery aspect kept you guessing I was sat watching this movie with so many possible ideas in my head as to what’s actually going on and I’m proud to say one of my guesses were pretty close. I’m genuinely struggling to rate this movie as I initially thought 4 stars but that ending from the moment he enters the lighthouse to the moment the credits roll really had me in shock and horror and that’s the first time a movie has made my brain go crazy like that and I’m honestly now debating between 4.5 and 5 stars because I wouldn’t say there was a real point in this movie where I was bored at times in other movies I get the urge to go on my phone but I didn’t really have this with this movie and no matter what I rate it I’m definitely going to remember this movie.
