Fargo
ah yah, ya betcha this was good ya
A perfect balance of comedy and drama in my opinion, neither too little or too large.
I enjoyed how the Coen Brothers used violence in excess to show how pointless it is, rather than thrilling. They saturated the film with gross brutality, but that seemed to drain the awesomeness, and reveal everyone’s lack of moral compass, hidden beneath their politeness and cheer.
I saw a really cool review that said that Jerry’s constant attempts to sell what is clearly a bullshit product in TruCoat is a little symbolic of many of the characters’ Minnesota patois, particularly Jerry’s, which masks a terrible moral compass beneath. “His polite manners are the useless TruCoat slathered over his malevolence.”
Very nice landscapes and cool visuals and plot.
