Chainsaw Man

A mismatched masterpiece is the best way to describe this. When watching the show I always got a sense that something was wrong. It had an interesting theme with control but it was just not handled in the right way.
Kinda like putting the wrong piece in a puzzle, sure it worked but it wasn’t done correctly. So I went onto reading stuff about the manga and I realized how much better it was especially with its theme.
For example all of the characters are really fun and interesting.Yet they are always looking for something they can’t get their hands on, makima wanting a family in the wrong way by making denji her dog, denji wanting to smash makima, power wanting to be free etc etc
Yet the show felt so restrained by barely focusing on the themes that it made some of the characters feel hollow. I caught onto this idea but it doesn’t help that the plot doesn’t feel anywhere close to being finished (thankfully we’re getting a movie)
I’m probably not making any sense so I’ll just wrap up what I’m trying to say. The source material was good but the show only saw the surface regarding everything yet occasionally theirs a flash of brilliance mostly in the characters and their words but that’s it.
I would have to do more research on the manga to confirm it more tho(because I could be over analyzing it).
I also wanted to mention that I loved Makima she was my favorite part of the show she really reminds me of Griffith
