Come and See
So I have seen the films classified as “The Scariest Films of All Time” but never have they ever actually lived up to that title. And, hell, this isn’t even a horror film. It’s not even necessarily scary but rather extremely intense with the ideas and presentation of its subject matter. This is most likely the best war film out there and I think everyone should at least see it once in their life. It’s magnificently shot (with impressive long takes and numerous disorienting angles to give At Eternity’s Gate a run for its money), brilliantly acted, and really is a slow-burn. But every single second of this film is dirty yet hypnotic. Depressing yet brilliant. They perfectly get across the danger and urgency of war with their main character being only 14 (behind-the-scenes information of his experience is depressing and disgusting). I don’t think I’ll ever see anything else like it and I don’t plan to. I think I’m gonna take a break from war films for a little bit.
