Oldboy
This film man, genuinely one of the best pieces of fiction I’ve watched this year. It’s always great to come across a film like this because it really just proves the true power of cinema.
Park Chan-Wook’s masterpiece in the original 2003 Oldboy stands up to all the hype it gets, especially with the hallway hammer fight scene, I could write a small paragraph on how well that was shot and choreographed by itself, but I won’t do that because you should probably just watch it for yourself instead.
If you like film, if you like cinema, WATCH. THIS. FILM. Because oh my god you will not regret it. There’s not much I can say without spoiling anything but the third act and the plot twist was so disturbing it was fucking fantastic. The rest of the plot will have you in constant questioning throughout and it is filled with actionable scenes.
The camera work, the lighting, the editing, the colour palette and the stylistic details of this film were all sensational i felt high watching this shit. Alongside that I was presented a fucking banger of a score, the music in some scenes honestly just changed the whole aspect and I mean just this film in general, bloody masterpiece.
I watched this dubbed and I think I got the same cunts that dubbed squid game icl, I didn’t have a problem with the dubbed but I could’ve seen me enjoying this just slightly more then I already did If it was in Korean and I could find subtitles but non the less all the actors did it justice.
Not even deserved of a funny comment for this one, everyone and their mums should watch this film.
