it was honestly soo cute and adventurous, i love the character dynamics, the interactions were soo fun and entertaining. I loved how simple the storyline was and a lot of the focus was on the bond development of the family, they started of awkward and then to really enjoying each other’s company during the road trip. i really loved the comfort this movie gave me and it had its unique aesthetic which was really nice and different about this film.
i didn’t expect this movie to turn out the way it did. it was really different and fun to watch, the whole movie was in the kids pov which i really enjoyed. i liked how the movie didn’t try to make the mother seem like she wasn’t being a good mother, u can really tell she was trying her best and wanted to do what’s best for her kid, u can really see how much love she had for her child and how she is always putting up a strong act like she isn’t getting affected by her financial struggles. i think this film portrayed the struggle of being a young mother really well which made the audience understand it even more. the ending broke me soo much, it was unexpected but i think it really brought the film together. but this film also made realise how kids can be genuinely scary sometimesðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ i also love the colour scheme, it wasn’t over powering with bright colours it was just right and aesthetically pleasing to watch.
this is one of my favourite studio Ghibli movies, i really love how the romance was portrayed not in a overly romantic way, it was just two kids who admired and inspired each other to follow their dreams, i loved how similar they were ngl it was giving a bit of enemies to lovers. i truly envy how ppl can have something their passionate about and they actually do something about it. it was a really simple movie and i didn’t have to think much about it, it’s a comforting film and the animation was just beautiful to watch
i swear living through life can be very depressing when u are not rich, parents do soo much for their  children it’s insane how ur whole life as a parent is dedicated to ur children and what’s best for them, it was soo sad to see how hard she studied in school to get a good job and her constantly being married to toxic and abusive men. by the end of the movie i really felt sorry for the mother, both her kids went off to live their lives and she was just left all alone. another thing i really enjoyed about this movie is the relationship between the bio-father and the kids had, the divorce didn’t effect their relationship and i think it made it stronger and healthier, it was really sweet to see the development throughout the film, it did really well also showing the struggle the children had having toxic step-fathers but they weren’t buying into all of their bullshit at all
this has to be one one of the best films i’ve seen portray bullying in such a harsh and cruel but very real and true way, i couldn’t help but cry soo much bc how can two characters be soo deserving of soo much better and be treated like crap for just exiting, it was touching to see them find comfort and hope from each other. they are the definition of right person right time. i didn’t expect it to make me cry as hard as it did by the end of the movie, i swear my soul was being ripped apart. the ending did not disappoint at all they deserve soo much happiness together, one of the best romance i’ve ever seen.
