Mother
Happy Mothers Day Weekend!
This was a hour and half of my father talking to my grandmother. This is the scariest movie I’ve ever seen.
This is the most that Albert Brooks has been himself, and I think that’s the best part. Albert Brooks, offers a deeply relatable exploration of the complex dynamics within a not only a mother-son relationship but also how mothers affect the family unit. Brooks captures the universal truths about the often complicated bond between parents and their children. The film's portrayal of motherly inspections and the quest for parental approval strikes a chord with me, as it reflects the experiences in my family. Through the most witty dialogue you’ve ever heard and its very emotional moments, Mother reminds me that family, with all its quirks and critiques, remains a cornerstone of my life.
