Aftersun

Whether it be laughter, anger, sadness or joy, great movies bring out so many emotions in you, maybe some you didn’t think you’d be able to feel. Masterpieces takes all those emotions and intensify them to the max, to the point you might not be able to fully process what you’d just experienced. This is why we love cinema. Aftersun is a true masterpiece of incredible emotional impact, you are left in total awe at the end of this picture and since I’ve finished watching it, I haven’t stopped thinking about it. I don’t know why this had such an impact on me, but it did, and to be honest, I’m glad it did. Not in a while have I been reminded of the true power of cinema and what it can do in just a couple of hours. A mesmerisingly great debut from Charlotte Wells, I cannot wait to see what she does next.
