Hijack
I mean, what did I want?
It's basically a classical serial where each episode is structured to move the story slightly forward, while containing one 'exciting' thing every x number of minutes and ending with some sort of hook to bring you back for the next one.
Does it do that, well, yeah, pretty much. Is it bloated, plot-wise and is the quality of the acting all over the shop in terms of credibility, absolutely.
As you'd likely expect, Idris Elba sells each scene he's in, but at the same time is let down by character inconsistencies, which is kind of everyone's problem, except that the rest of the cast has less to work with (a lot are just playing stereotypes) and are even more hamstrung.
But, again, when you've calculated that you have just about an hour before falling asleep and so can't/don't want to watch a movie, this'll fit the bill.
