Interstellar
“Cooper— they didn’t bring us here to change the past”
The people that hate on this movie just to be different aren’t real cinephiles at this point. That was easily the greatest all around film I have ever seen; from the cinematography and visuals to the acting, storytelling, iconic lines and moments. Now would I put it in my top 4… No.
I think it just misses that mark for me due to how long the film is and the scenes when they are on that weird planet with Matt Damon. However, those things aren’t even close to demoting this thing a half star. Now onto the pros of the film; The raw emotion Matthew McConnaghey brought to the film was enough to make this at least 4* but then you mix in the stunning cinematography and visuals and you have a masterpiece.
Cinematography is definitely my favorite thing when watching a film and this was the best I’ve ever seen. The next best thing about this film is that it has the greatest score of any film I’ve ever heard. Just iconic songs throughout the film that manipulate the tone and make you feel feelings you wouldn’t expect from a sci-fi film.
Easily the best Christopher Nolan film I have seen, I don’t care if that’s a popular opinion. I felt emotions for this movie and cried at times totally differently than I have at other films. I think the rewatchability of this is what’s holding it back but other than the I would totally give this a 10/10 film hands down.
