The Matrix

known for being the "accessible" one of the three (now 4!), I still revel in the details that hint at more than just an action movie. These details are what make this movie the only media I enjoy rewatching at all. It tells a story of great sci-fi complexity in such a straightforward way, convincing you that it's just an action movie. Of course being more than just an action movie doesn't let you slack on the action, and in that regard I think The Matrix also impresses, and still holds lessons in how to make silly stunts look extremely cool and suspend your disbelief juuust enough. Some rules can be bent, others... broken.
