A Man Called Otto
how does this only have an average rating of 3.3 im literally distraught finishing this
i got the book a man called ove for my birthday and while i haven’t finished it i decided to watch the movie adaptation of it and wow
i didn’t expect to cry as much as i did? i already had some preconceived notion about otto/ove but i did not expect his character development to him me this hard
a black and white man who had no colour until her, is angry at the world for what happened to her, he becomes cold and it takes a mexican pregnant lady to bring back his colour. and i appreciate marisol so much.
i’m actually so upset at this movie i was crying the whole time, the way he opened up, the way we learnt more about him and why he’s like this, his relationships and how he is actually a sweet man deep down. i can’t handle it old people make me sad.
marisol is a trooper, she is so persistent and she was able to fix otto by giving him a chance
when he said “i didn’t live before her and there’s no living after her” or whatever he said i literally broke down in tears, she truly was his life line.
although i don’t feel like they captured young otto’s pain, loneliness and resilience, looking back at his past memories still made me so sad.
OTTO HASNT SHOVELED HIS WALK ENOUGH. they should’ve named their son otto, that would’ve set me off
i can’t even explain how i feel i just really enjoyed this movie. rip sonya and ove
sorry for spoilers oops!
p.s when we lose tom hanks, cinema will die. how old is he now? idk if i will be able to handle that day
oh he’s only 67 that’s okay we have like hopefully another 20 years haha please don’t die tom hanks
