Interstellar
Redux review;
Take me back to the summer of 2014 when the mantra was get have fun you could be whatever you want. A journey to the stars has never been explored in such an exciting and well written way. What makes this great is the showcase of what the effects of minute changes to atmosphere, gravity, temperature could have to the composition of different planets is still enthralling and holds up 6 years later, the actors and story and memorable, and most importantly the scale of the universe truly is unfathomable.
It's for these reason's that the films only let down prevents it from being a true classic on rewatch, the feeling of staying true to its source material and devoting equal parts of the movie to staying grounded, as if on paper the script was scared of losing touch with its wider audience.
This movie was meant to represent to me what 2001: a Space Odyssey was to my parents, and I feel it's studio and pressures to be mass pandering held it back from being remembered as true art.
For these reasons I am ashamed to have to review my previous score of 10/10 to 9/10
