Eraserhead
Finally had the chance to experience this film and wow was it incredible. The film itself on first watch is impossible to fully dissect, it has a lot to say about parenthood, sexuality and how your mind creates these hellish landscapes to escape? to cope? with what surrounds us? But that’s all for the analyzing part for now, the fact that on his first film he shows this level of mastery on lighting, framing and the entire sensory experience of film as a medium is insanely inspriring. I’ve only seen a few of his films and all of them (imo) are easily on the conversation for greatest film ever made and being completely honest this might be my personal favorite of his, need to rewatch already.
