Resurrection

Genuinely have nothing to say that would actually translate into any sort of cohesive thoughts on what I just experienced with this film. Life changing otherworldy craft at work with this one. The final story/final 30 minutes (NYE ‘99) are something that I first thought wouldn’t work to fully lay the groundwork to achieve what Gan wanted to achieve with those characters in such a short span of time but he did it and it’s absolutely my favorite part of the film. The score?!? Unreal stuff. Nothing more powerful than our ability to dream, to create, to love and to live. A film that cheerishes its artform and our existence of endless pursuit of making meaning out of it. First Bi Gan film and it won’t be the last. A piece of art made by dreamers for dreamers and I’ll gladly die as one rather than to live forever.
