Heat
A crime drama on a grand scale. Michael Mann, Al Pacino, and Robert De Niro are all in their primes of their career and deliver an exhilirating, fastly paced, three hour epic.
The action sequences are all incredible but what sets this above every other movie in this genre are the performances and character work. The Al Pacino and Robert De Niro rivalry is incredible, with that dining scene being one of my favourite scenes ever.
Also, the sound design on all the shooting scenes was so visceral, raw, and realistic.
Natalie Portman may just have the best career start of any actor with Leon and Heat in back to back years.
