Star Wars
The Original Star Wars is a magnificent achievement in cinema. George Lucas was able to revolutionise filmaking and its truly astounding what he was able to do in the 70's. How he was able to visualise the space battles and the practical effects of all the aliens is just amazing. Its just surreal to think all these ideas and this universe was all invented in the mind of Lucas.
The characters are all so memorable. The entrance of Vader is incredible and it’s the introduction to the greatest movie villain of all time.
I love Luke's classic heroes journey character arc. From becoming a farm boy to the the galaxy saviour.
Han's arc is also really great as he started out just wanting money but in the end came back to save the rebellion.
Also, I love Leia in this film, and how she gets in on the action.
C3PO, R2D2 and Chewbucca also provide lots of comedy to the film.
Also, I love Obi-Wan in this film. He plays the mentor role so well and I love how he explains what the force is to Luke.
The sequence of saving Leia is thrilling and exciting and the final battle is incredibly tense and exciting.
Also, this is the origin of John Williams star wars music. How he was able to come up with all of these different themes for one movie is unbeleivable.
Only criticisms is some of film doesn't hold up. The editting can be quite rough at times especially after a lighsaber is ignited or a blast door opens or closes. Also, the lightsaber duel isn't very good but I kind of give these issues a bit of a pass due to the time it was made in.
