Whiplash
An adrenialine-fueled, electrifying display of ballistic editing, dynamic camerawork and masterfully flamboyant direction. The cinematography is beautiful and I really love the colour grading selections.
The character of Neiman connects with me on a deeper level, with the themes of determination, obsession, ambition, success and failure. Miles Teller is fantastic and JK Simmons delivers one of the best villain acting performances of all time as Terence Fletcher. His roasting monologues had me holding my breath and then at times dying of laughter. The ending of this film is truly one of the best scenes in all of film history.
A truly phenomenal piece of cinema that is endlessly rewatchable and reminds me why I love movies.
