This was like uncovering a time capsule. I wanted to emulate everything about this dude when I was in High School. This live concert was my Bible when I was 17, guys.

Okay, so I really liked it. I understand why it’s so beloved. Yet, I’m still going to piss off quite a few people with what I have to say: I didn’t really buy Joseph Gordon-Levitt in his role. He looked 12 even though he’s supposed to be a High Schooler. I didn’t sense much chemistry between him and Bianca, either. Aside from that, I thought it was wonderful and fully lived up to the high expectations.

I feel like Max went on to become either a serial killer, or an Oscar-winning director, no in between.

I had no clue until recently that the late, great Carrie Fisher was also known for her writing prowess, may she rest in peace. Could’ve done without the romance angle or what I considered a bit of an overly cheesy ending, but it was a great watch regardless. I thought that the chemistry between Meryl and Shirley was beautiful.
