CODA
I watched this in my Disability Stories through Film & Media class, and oh my god. Do not watch this movie if you're not ready to cry. I loved this movie immensely. It felt like such a heartwarming movie you'd watch in the early 2010s. It deserved all three Oscar wins. I love how they cast actual actors who are deaf to portray the family. One critique I could make is that the actress who plays Ruby, Emilia Jones, isn't a child of deaf adults herself. However, they did make an incredible choice with Emilia. Her voice is insane, and the choice of the Joni Mitchell song was so important to me. I love Joni Mitchell. I do think the ending was a bit dragged out, but it didn't bother me. I enjoy it when movies include a montage of the characters' lives at the end. Anyways, 10/10 movie would definitely recommend.
