Sirāt
THERE IS A BRIDGE CALLED SIRĀT THAT CONNECTS HELL AND PARADISE.
THOSE WHO CROSS IT ARE WARNED THAT ITS PATH IS NARROWER THAN A STRAND OF HAIR, SHARPER THAN A SWORD.
Initially felt like watching a normal missing person adventure film blended with hypnotic heavy bass rave culture but that one specific incident in the midst of the film changed the course of the story into a more chaotic, stressful and haunting experience (the last few scenes are crazily stressful as hell).
The music is the core (insane work by Kangding Ray). The relentless thumping of the bass serves as the heartbeat of the film contrasting with the deep silence of the deserted Morocco. The desert also gives it an apocalyptic atmosphere (with the impending World War III), and the gritty texture of the visuals makes the heat and dust palpable.
"Make everything blow up" literally blew my mind watching this film.
